Agnes Marie (Selenke) Preisser Harris

Agnes Marie Preisser Harris died January 4, 2025 at St. Teresa Hospital in Wichita, KS.  She was born September 26, 1931 in Grainfield, KS to John C & Magdalena (Wildeman) Selenke.

She married James M. Preisser in February 1952. He died in August 1984. She married Marvin “Gene” Harris in September 1986.  He died in July 2022.

Agnes was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ost, KS.  She was active in the altar society and was a volunteer for the St. Joseph School. She was also an avid quilter.

Agnes was preceded in death by: her parents; son, John M. Preisser; husband James; husband, Marvin “Gene”; sister, Elenora Selenke; brothers, John B. Selenke, Leo “Pete” & wife Jane Selenke, Donnie & wife Glenda Selenke; and close family friend, Avagene Newell.

Survivors include: daughters, Vicki (Chuck) Haines, Jane (Greg) Krause, Kathy (Robert) Dick and Cheryl Preisser; sons, Mark, Patrick (Connie), and David (Jeannie); step-son, David; brother, Sylvester “Sy” (Connie) Selenke; and sister, Phyllis Favero.

The rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025 and mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 both at St. Joseph Ost Catholic Church in Mt. Hope.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Ost Catholic Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School and may be sent to the church 13016 E. Maple Grove Rd. Mt. Hope, KS 67108.
