Bernice Aleen (Dick) Eisenhauer, 89, loving mother and grandma, passed away peacefully June 15, 2026 at Bright Home Plus, surrounded by family. She was born on March 15, 1937 to Paul A. and Mildred Dick along with her twin brother, Bernard, at Grace Hospital in Hutchinson. They were raised on the family farm south of Mt. Hope, they raised Polled Hereford cattle and participated in 4-H activities. Later after getting out of the cattle business, they raised and showed Palomino and Quarter Horses. She graduated from Mt. Hope School in 1955 and then attended Emporia Teachers Collage. While there, she meet the love of her live, Anthony J. (Ike) Eisenhauer. They were married on November 27, 1957 for 42 years before he passed on June 15, 2000. They spent many years showing horses and camping together with their two daughters. Bernice worked at Willard’s Grocery store, Winnebago, and retired from Collins Industries. She was involved in many activities over the years in the community, from helping at the Community Center lunches, with Mt. Hope Days, and the Mt. Hope Ambulance Service where she served as an EMT and a Board member. She was also a member of O.E.S Silver Leaf Chapter for 59 years, lifetime member of Serendipity Camping Club, Kansas Good Sam Club, and the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Lewellen and Leigh Ann (William) Murray. Grandchildren: Evan (Terika Scott) Perriman, Brittany Perriman, Jordan (Megan) Perriman, Austin (Trinidad) Lewellen. Bonus Grandchildren: Gena Bauer, Mackenzie (Jordan) Simon, Meghan (Jack) Heard, Patrick Murray and Katie (Christian Slay) Murray. Great Grandchildren: Boston Perriman, Charli and Finley Perriman, Asher Perriman, Hayden Perriman, and Paxton Perriman. Bonus Great Grandchildren: Trevis Robinson, Corbyn and Caesynn Simon, Noah Scott and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers that Mom had for the last several years: Phoenix Home Health: Jamie Curry, Amber Rosenthal; Ennoble Care Hospice: Al Schmidt, Teresa Bell, Annika Bell-Davies, Gladys Conner; Bright Home Plus: Janet Musa and her wonderful staff. Graveside Service: Sunday, June 28th @ 1pm, Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mt. Hope, KS Celebration of Life: Saturday, July 18th @ 1pm, 400 Building, 400 West Main St, Mt. Hope, KS In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Kansas Humane Society or Bright Home Plus, LLC.
