Betty L. (Gooden) Peitz

Betty L. Peitz (Gooden), age 93, passed away on January 22, 2026 in a nursing home in Conway Springs, Kansas. She was able to live in her home in Clearwater, Kansas until one week prior to her passing. She was happiest in her home, sitting on her deck, watching the birds and other animals in her yard and pond, as well as in the park behind her home. Betty also loved admiring and tending to her plants and flowers. She had quite the green thumb! She also had a passion for collecting salt and pepper shakers.  Betty was known in Clearwater for being the house with the gnomes since she had quite a collection of gnomes in her front flower bed!. The little things brought her so much joy.

Betty is survived by her brother, Dr. Ronald D. Gooden, of South Carolina, as well as her six children, Cindy, Mike, Debbie, Mark, Annette and Stacey. Betty was also a Grandmother to sixteen and Great Grandmother to twenty-four children.
