Carl Davis Obituary

Carl R. Davis; found peace, Sept. 5, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born August 10th, 1933.

After retiring from Beech Aircraft, Carl was an adventurer and loved to travel the United States with his wife, Margaret Davis by his side. A longtime avid photographer, he shared his talent of photography with a business of video production filming weddings and life events for others. He shared these events with hundreds of families including personal events that are shared with our own extended family. His eye for photography was quite extraordinary with many fond memories for lots to treasure.

Carl was the youngest of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jennie B. Davis and father, Cleo Davis. His brothers, Wayne, Walter, Vernon, Roger, and sisters, Norma Jean and Bonnie. He is also preceded by his grandson, Christopher Davis.

Carl is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Margaret (Bruce) Davis and his children, Linda Castillo (Wichita), Richard Davis (Mulvane), Sandra (Randy) Jones (Wichita), Steven (Kelly) Davis (Bishop, CA), and Darrell Davis (El Dorado, KS). Carl and Margaret are blessed with 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. And so many to mention extended family and friends.

Carl was born and raised in Wellington, KS. He graduated Wellington High in 1951 and joined the Army soon after. He married Margaret and started serving the Army in 1953. He served in Germany and the United States returning home to Wellington to start his family life. Carl and Margaret lived in many cities but later in life they always came home to their Kansas roots. Carl was always interested in Kansas History including the Chisolm Trail which crossed his family’s property in Mayfield, Ks. After traveling the US for more than 15 retired years, Carl and Margaret made their residence in Wichita. Carl became active in the American Legion and helped with the Kansas Honor Flights. He also was an animal lover and wanted to help with the K-9’s For Warrior’s. The family is requesting donation’s to these great programs instead of flowers.
