Carolyn L (Scheer) Lies

Carolyn L. Lies, 79, passed away on January 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born to John and Leona Scheer in Wichita, Kansas, on May 25, 1944. Carolyn married Dave Lies in April of 1964 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich and together they had four children, Vicki, Pam, Melinda and Curt. She retired from Legacy Bank in 2007 after 28 years as the Head Proof Operator, she also worked part time at the St. Margaret's Child Care Center  in Colwich from the time it opened until the time of her death, a job that got her out of the house, kept her moving and that she genuinely enjoyed. Carolyn was a member of the St. Anne’s Altar Society and the Harvest House, she enjoyed gardening.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Leona Scheer; and husband Dave Lies. Carolyn is survived by her children, Vicki (Greg) Dagenais, Pam Smith, Melinda Lies, and Curt Lies; grandchildren, Emily Riley, Dylan (Madison) Dagenais, Logan (Laiken) Dagenais, Taylor (Ryan) Gilbert, Tristen Dagenais, Roxy Smith (Nick Bookout), Cory Smith, Wyatt Lies; great-grandchildren, Averie, Cheyenne, Levi, Aerilyn, Aksel, Elsie, Addison, Cash, Scarlett, Chloe with two more on the way. A viewing will be held on Monday, January 29th, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Wulf-Ast Mortuary in Colwich. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. immediately followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich, Kansas.
