Catherine "Rose" Gorges

Catherine “Rose” Gorges, 74, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 25, 2024. 

She was born October 11, 1949 in Kingman, Kansas to Mathew and Genevieve (Hampel) Giefer.  After the death of her mother, she was raised by her step mother, Bertha (Klein) Giefer. Her family was most important to her.  She loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren and was an active member of her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Larry Klein and Mary Olson.

Rose is survived by: her loving husband of 52 years, Kenny; her children, Greg, Wayne (Jamie), Duane (Wendy), Shane (Amanda) Gorges, and Christine (Tim) Royse; her siblings, Jerry Klein, Margie Scheer and Mattie (Kim) Giefer; her 14 grandchildren and 1 step grandchild.

Recitation of the rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2024 and funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich, Kansas.
