Earline Howard, 90, died peacefully at home on February 19th, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born in Bethel, NC on April 28, 1934 to parents Armelia Bevins and Doc Moore.
Earline was known for her incredible baking. She was infamous for her cakes that people would often fight over. She was passionate about crocheting delicate doilies that she would bake in sugar, laughing as her son stole tastes of the sugar when she wasn't looking. She loved fishing and traveling with her loved ones. A fan of music, she found joy in the songs of Ray Charles, Diana Ross, and Boyz II Men.
Earline worked as an Executive housekeeper for Marriott, retiring in 2005 after a long and dedicated career. In her retirement, Earline devoted her time to her family, offering them never ending support. She was the heart and matriarch of her family, contributing love, wisdom, and unwavering strength.
As per her wishes, Earline will be cremated. Her ashes will be scattered in the beautiful waters of Fish River Island in Maine, a place where she found solace while fishing with her loved ones.
She is survived by: her sons, Donald (Deandrea) Roberts and Thomas (Anna) Howard; her brothers, Nate (Wendy) Moore, Charlie Moore, Joseph Moore and Luke Moore; her half- brothers, Frank and Johnny Doward; her adopted sister, Belinda Doward; and her 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Earline was preceded in death by: her parents; her daughter, Diane Howard; her son, Alexander Howard; and her 5 siblings and 2 half-siblings.
The family will greet friends at a visitation Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 11:00-1:00 at Wulf-Ast Mortuary Chapel in Colwich (213 W. Wichita St. Colwich, KS 67030). There will also be a Passover taking place in Junction City, KS from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Living Word International Ministries.
