Eugene John Gruenbacher

Eugene Gruenbacher, 88, passed away March 27, 2026. Gene was born September 27, 1937, to Albert and Florence (Martin) Gruenbacher. He dedicated his life to his faith, family and farming. Gene went to Andale High School and Benedictine College to study agriculture. In 1958, he married Rosemary Thimmesch and they had a wonderful marriage until her passing in 1997.
Gene is survived by his sons, Kurt (Sylvia) and Jeff (Laura); granddaughters, Katie (Kory) Tyler, Rachel (Josh) Meler, Megan Gruenbacher, Bria (Zach) Weast, Ashley (Lane) Underwood and Molly (Scott) Jordan; ten great-grandchildren; his brother, Paul (Margie) Gruenbacher; dear friend, Virginia Gutschenritter. 

Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Andale, KS.  A rosary will be said at 10:00 AM, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church.
