Jerry Spradlin Obituary

Jerry L. Spradlin, 73, of Kansas City, KS passed away on September 13, 2023 at Hospice House in Hutchinson, Kansas after a short cancer illness. Jerry was born in Lyons, KS on July 22, 1950. He attended Lyons High School graduating in 1968. After being drafted into the Marine Corps in 1969, he faithfully served two years in service to his country. Jerry worked for Liberty Mobile Homes, Redmon Industries, Kaw PipeLine and was owner of Spradlin Lease Services.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, William “Bud” and Marge Spradlin of Lyons, KS and a brother Richard Spradlin of Illinois.

Jerry is survived by a sister Connie Humiston of Olathe, KS; a son Justin Spradlin (Tana) of Haven, KS and grandchildren Chase Depew, Jhet Spradlin, and Jayci Spradlin; daughter Jana Spradlin of Lee’s Summit, MO and grandchildren Brayden and Kyan; son Jeff Spradlin of Platte City, MO; niece Jacia (Mike) Phillips of Olathe, KS and family and nephew Lance (Jo Ellen) Spradlin and family of Green Bay, WI; Ex-spouses Lynette Downing Dyer of Hutchinson, KS and Shelly Schmidt Dougherty of Eudora, KS.

Jerry was a hardworker and an eternal optimist. He will be remembered for his fun loving personality and his quick wit.

The family would like to express our thanks for the help and care given by Hospice House of Hutchinson, 1523 E. 20th Ave, Hutchinson, KS. If desired, family and friends may make a donation to them in Jerry’s memory. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
