Rosary 7 p.m. Friday; Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, both at St. Anthony Catholic Church; interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Ost, with Father Sam Pinkerton. Mr. Helten born Jan. 25, 1917, in Ost, Kan., to Peter and Elizabeth (Wehlage) Helten. On May 25, 1943, he married Justine Youngers in Willowdale. Survivors: sons, Joseph Jr. (Diana) of Garden Plain, David (Marilyn) of Cheney; daughters, Roberta (Dennis) Rau of Garden Plain, Joanne (Don) Doud of Houston, Texas, Elizabeth "Betty" (Ken) Seiwert, Mary (Jerry) Scheer both of Garden Plain; sister, Dorothy Reece of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; 28 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic School, Ost. Wulf-Ast Mortuary, Garden Plain.
