Joyce E. Lehner

Joyce E. Lehner (Zerener), age 91, of Cheney, Kansas, passed away peacefully, in the early morning, on Friday, August 9, 2024. Joyce was a beloved retired teacher with 37 years of dedicated service to the Cheney community. She was also a devoted wife to the late Robert Loren Lehner, with whom she shared the joys and challenges of farm life.

She is survived by her son, Bradford Lehner, and his wife, Judy, as well as her daughter, Jodi Schendel, all of Cheney, Kansas. Joyce was a proud grandmother to Nichole Lehner, Ross Lehner, Chase Lehner, and Sofie Schendel, and a cherished great-grandmother to Elaina Ward, Luke, Josie, Maisie, and Lucy Lehner, as well as Emma and Ava Lehner.

Joyce is also survived by her sister, Judy Shipley of El Dorado, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Reno of Cheney.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
