Lester F Phillips

MT. HOPE - Phillips, Lester F., 92, retired sheet metal worker and Burrton USD 369 head of maintenance, died Jan. 9, 2013. Service 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. Mr. Phillips was born July 23, 1920, in Ft. Douglas, Ark., to the late Jessie and Susie Phillips. On Aug. 2, 1958, he married Alma R. Boothe in Miami, Okla. Preceded in death by parents; an infant son; brother, Escar; and sister, Elma Donaldson. Survivors: wife, Alma; sons, Steve, David both of Mt. Hope; daughter, Karen and husband, Charlie Breitenbach of Pretty Prairie; brothers, Lewis and wife, Irene of Sikeston, Mo., Victor of Bristol, Va.; sisters, Ollie Henson of Eagle River, Alaska, Ola and husband, Odus Roberds of Wichita; grandson, Thomas Ryan of Mt. Hope. Memorials may be made to the Lester Phillips Fund. Wulf-Ast Mortuary, Mt. Hope.
