Madonna (Burton) Dodd, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Madonna Burton was born on September 5, 1936, in Damar, Kansas to Meddie Burton and Genevieve St. Peter. She was married to the love of her life, Doyle Dodd, for nearly 70 years. In addition to her marriage to Doyle, her greatest joy was being surrounded by family. She loved cooking and baking for them. Her specialties were her roll-up pancakes, bread pudding with caramel sauce, coffee cakes, and a variety of sweet breads and cookies. She was a prayer warrior whose trust in God guided her through every season of life. Madonna and Doyle began every day praying the rosary for specific intentions that were on their hearts each morning.
Madonna is survived by her husband, Doyle Dodd, three daughters: Carla (Charlie) Pike, Rebecca (Jim) Binneboese, and Paulette (Kelly) Bulloch; a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings: Leo (Linda) Burton and Leann Sack, Bob (Betty) Burton, and her many friends, including her caregivers at Via Christi Village.
Madonna was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ron and Leroy Burton; one sister, Joann Normandin; and two nephews, Zach Burton and Jeremy Balthazor.
Visitation will be 4:00PM-6:00PM on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the Via Christi Village Chapel, 3636 N Ridge Road, Wichita 67205. A rosary will be said at 4:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Via Christi Village Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Colwich, KS.
