Marcellus P. “Marc” Thimmesch, 90, retired farmer and former Vulcan Chemical employee, passed away on July 30, 2024.
He was born in Viola, Kansas on February 22, 1934 to John and Helen (Rausch) Thimmesch. Marc is preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Greg; his granddaughter, Cooper; and his siblings Francis, Rose, Clarence and Ronnie. He is survived by; his loving wife of 65 years, Coletta; his sons, Jerry (Lisa), Dave, Charlie (Nancy) and Steve (Heather) Thimmesch; his 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Alvin (Sharon) and Gene (Judy) Thimmesch.
Recitation of the rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2024 and the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 5, both at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Colwich. At the request of the family-in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Mark’s Cemetery Fund (19230 W. 29th N, Colwich, KS 67030) or to Gregory J. Thimmesch Memorial Seminary Burse (424 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202).
