Mark "Butch" A. Friesen

Mark “Butch” A. Friesen, 76, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024 at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, KS.  He was born to Mildred (Nickle) and Leonard Friesen on November 22nd, 1947 in Wichita, KS.

Butch attended Pretty Prairie High School and joined the US Army afterwards, stationed in Colorado Springs, CO.  He later spent his lifetime farming and raising beef cattle in the Pretty Prairie, KS and Russell Springs, KS areas.  He enjoyed fishing, coyote hunting with his brothers and doing anything outdoors near and around the Ninnescah River.  Butch loved all animals and taking drives around “the North 40”.

Mark is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Joye G. (Owston) Friesen, Hutchinson, KS, daughter Joelle (Friesen) Stephens of Overland Park, KS and granddaughters, Reagan and Alexa Stephens.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, brothers James (Jim) Friesen, Larry Friesen and David Friesen.

Cremation has taken place.  No services planned.
