Marlene Loy Akers, 84, of Cheney, KS and formerly of McCracken, KS, passed away on December 1, 2023. Marlene was born on January 02, 1939, in Dighton, KS, the daughter of Richard E. (Ted) and Helen Akers. She was a member of the Garden Plain Catholic Church and a longtime resident of the Cheney community. She retired from Prudential Financial Services and worked at Citizens State Bank for many years. Marlene was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed.
Survivors include, Chris Barrett (Son) of Cheney, KS, Kevin Barrett (Son) of Wichita, KS, Monica Urbano (Granddaughter) of Wichita, KS, Aimee Barrett (Granddaughter) of Kingman, KS, Andrew Barrett (Grandson) of Kingman, KS, and multiple Great-grand children.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, brother William Akers Jr., and granddaughters Malissa & Sara Barrett.
