Melinda Slane

Melinda Slane, age 74, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away on December 15, 2025. She was born on October 2, 1951, to Richard Slane and Virginia (Harrod) Slane. 

Melinda dedicated her professional life to education, serving as an elementary school teacher. She touched the lives of countless students through her patience, dedication, and commitment to learning.

She is survived by her sister, Terri Ewertt; along with nephew, Jason (Anna) Ewertt; niece, Jennifer (David) Marshall; great-nephews and great-nieces Alexia, Luke, William and Adalynne. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Vicki Slane.

A memorial service honoring Melinda’s life will be announced at a later date and is planned to take place in January 2026.
