Mildred “Millie” Hays passed away September 23, 2023, in Oxford, KS while under the care of South-Central Kansas Hospice and Anew Healthcare-Oxford. Millie was born March 23, 1936, in Bucklin, Missouri to Willie and Nellie West.
Millie was preceded in death by sons Mark Aubert, Danny Spreitler and David Spreitler. She is survived by daughters Rebecca Miller and Dawn Valenzuela, sons Jim Strickland, Brian Larson, and Steve Roduner, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Millie was a very social person and loved meeting and visiting with new people but her absolute favorite thing in the world was to play bingo. Many a pleasurable hour was spent playing (and hopefully winning) at bingo. She encouraged everyone to enjoy the game with her and assisted with organizing many a game at both her assisted living facility as well as calling bingo wherever and whenever possible.
While we would love to hold a memorial service in Millie’s name, she specifically requested that no services take place. A special “THANK YOU” goes out to the loving staff at Anew Healthcare-Oxford and if you wish to honor her legacy, please make a donation to them for the benefit of others in their caring hands.
