Patricia L (Rau) Seiler

In loving memory of Pat Seiler (Rau), 85, loving wife, nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed into eternal life on June 19, 2024. Pat was born September 28, 1938 in Colwich, KS. Pat was the daughter of Alex Rau and Lucille (Kruse). She married John Seiler on April 30, 1960 and together they raised six children and lost one child shortly after birth. John was the love of her life and with his passing in late May, she found herself longing to be with him, the husband who stood by her side in sickness and health. Now they can share eternal life together. A loving mother and devoted wife with a warm smile, always ready to help those in need. During her life she carried many crosses with grace.  She enjoyed family gatherings, playing 10-point pitch and dominos, baking cookies, embroidery and piecing together quilts, planting flowers and decorating for holidays, especially Christmas.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, infant daughter Carla Marie, siblings Marlene Black (Pete), Bob (Sophia), Mary Stockemer (Leroy)., and Rick. Pat is survived by children, Fr. Andrew J. of Council Grove, KS, Jerry J. of Garner, KS, Beth Gipson (Kelly) of Yellville, AR, Dennis J. (Therese) of Wichita KS, Ted G. (Terri) of Colwich, KS, and Kelly J. (Danielle) of Paola KS. Pat is Survived by sisters Phyllis Theis (Jim), Dee Marnane (Ross), Carol Thimesch (Dennis), and Brother Fred (Sandy). Pat is survived by 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Pat left a legacy filled with love, faith and joy, and she will be greatly missed. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Colwich or the Priest Retirement and Education Fund.

The Vigil Service will be 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 23, 2024 and Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich.  Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
