Patricia C. Stucky, 73, passed away on January 21, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas. She was born to Ivan and Edith Dilsaver in Sargent, Nebraska, on June 29, 1950. Patty dealt with Type 2 diabetes since she was 40 years old, but she didn’t let that stop her from enjoying life. She was well-known for being a very stubborn individual, a quality that undoubtedly helped her overcome the numerous ailments and disabilities that she faced over the past eight years. Patty loved to read, and when she lost her sight, she began listening to talking books that she ordered by mail from The State Library of Kansas in Emporia. She was a loving mother, who had a great sense of adventure and was an unparalleled prankster. She wore many hats during her life: she was a milk truck driver, a dairy farmer, co-owner of an accounting practice with her former husband, a financial investment advisor, and a special education teacher. She was an incredibly business savvy woman and completed everything looking through a positive lens. Through her many endeavors, Patty showed her daughters that the sky was the limit. Of all of her jobs, her favorite was teaching; Patty taught for USD 259 in Wichita for over 20 years. She had many hobbies and especially enjoyed gardening and landscaping. But her grandkids were the biggest joy in her life. She lived for the activities with them and their visits to see her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Ivan Dilsaver.
Patricia is survived by mother, Edith Dilsaver; daughters, Dena Klaiber, Kara Stucky (Ryan Cottrell); grandchildren, Mason and Ava Klaiber; siblings, Karen Hunsinger, Marshall Dilsaver (Kelly), Pam Ferrier, Peggy Dilsaver-Custer, Debbie Fuller; former spouse, Edward Stucky; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Wulf-Ast Mortuary Chapel in Garden Plain, Kansas, on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 10:00 am.
