Philip Dean Kinast, 88, of Pretty Prairie, transitioned to his heavenly home on February 1, 2026. Philip was born on October 13, 1937, to Albert & Louise (Guhl) Kinast in Hutchinson, KS.
Philip graduated from Haven High School in 1955 and Valparaiso University in 1959. On August 24, 1958, he married Carol Brown in Eldorado, KS. He owned and operated Reynolds Pizza, Haven, with Carol for 16 years, and worked for Walnut Valley Furniture in Augusta for 6 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Dean Kinast, brother, Charles, and sister, Virginia Woertz.
Survived by his children, Cinda (Don) Patterson, Vince (Mary) Kinast, Connie (Brad) Reynolds, Christine (Sam) Grilliot, Mark Kinast, Barbara (Jeff) Madison; daughter-in-law, Sarah Kinast; sister, Marilyn Hurst; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren.
Philip’s wishes were for cremation. A private family graveside service will take place at a later time in the Laurel Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Reno County Humane Society.
