Sharon Ann Konda

Sharon Ann Konda, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed from this world to be with the Christ on July 25, 2025.  She was born December 21, 1944 in Colwich, KS, to Frank and Margaret Gegen.  

She is survived by her husband Leonard Konda of Colwich, KS and 4 children Elaine (Lawrence)Wierman of Brownell, KS and Kevin (Patty)Konda of Colwich, KS, Greg (Teresa) Konda of Lee’s Summit, MO and Dave (Angie) Konda of Colwich, KS.  Sharon and Leonard had 13 grandchildren, Kaisha Goebel, Marissa Straka, Tyler Konda, Kaleb Konda, Alyssa Wendel, Matthew Konda, Nathan Konda, Kaylee Goddard, Robert Wierman, Morgan Konda, Jeremy Konda, Becca Konda and Leah Konda and 8 great grandchildren.   She is also survived by brother Keith Gegen of Cheney, KS and Stan (Wanda) Gegen of Colwich, KS.  

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jane Trueblood and Virginia Gegen, sister-in-law.  Leonard and Sharon were married in Colwich, KS July 27, 1963. 

Sharon had a passion for children. Spending her career working in schools and raising 4 children that soon turned into 13 grandchildren. She enjoyed summer weeks keeping her grandchildren, including trips to the pool, ice cream runs, and games. Family was always her centerpiece. She enjoyed family camping trips and Sunday afternoon get togethers for a BBQ. Gardening was her favorite hobby and she always made fresh salsa and German potato salad that was a crowd favorite. She was also a devout Christian and Catholic and she instilled that into her family in everything she did. She had a keen sense of humor and a personality as big as her smile.

The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025 and mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025, both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Church Building Fund, 311 S. 5th St. Colwich, KS 67030.
