Shelly Rae (Sewell) DuNah

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Shelly DuNah, a remarkable woman with a heart of gold. Shelly was born on July 16, 1971, and was called home on June 30, 2026. Throughout her 54 years, she touched countless lives with her contagious laughter, words of wisdom, and, of course, her home-cooked meals.

Shelly was preceded in death by her husband, Jason DuNah, whom she married in 2023; her brothers, Brad Sewell and Verlin "Todd" Sewell; and her parents, Deborah Watson and Verlin "Bub" Sewell.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lauren Gomez, Derek Derr, Carly Collazo (Josh Collazo), and Brad Pfannenstiel; stepchildren, Drew Pratt (Sarah Pratt), and Sierra DuNah (Joseph Yanez); her sisters, Tammy Yoke (Dan Yoke) and Jamie Sewell; her stepfather, Craig Rixon; her cherished grandchildren, Caelyn, Clayton, Caleb, Jayden, Hunter, Lincoln, Noah, Easton, Gracie, Adriana, Sawyer, Haylee, Weston and Bryson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Shelly spent much of her life caring for others, a profession that perfectly reflected the compassion in her heart. As a devoted caregiver to the elderly, she provided not only daily assistance but also friendship, comfort, and dignity to those she served. Her kindness, patience, and selfless nature made a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals and their families.

Those who knew Shelly remember her as someone with a "big, loving heart," a true "force" whose presence could light up any room. To many, she was more than family or a friend—she was a best friend. She had an incredible ability to make people laugh, offer encouragement when it was needed most, and make everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for others will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial service to celebrate Shelly's life will be held at a later date.
