In Loving Memory of Sherrie Lea Lakzadeh (McGrane)
September 7, 1961 – August 13, 2025
Sherrie Lea Lakzadeh, aged 63, passed away peacefully at her home on August 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 7, 1961, in Stella, Missouri, Sherrie grew up with a deep sense of compassion and dedication to others. She attended Haven High School and pursued some college studies, later devoting her life to caring for those in need.
Sherrie spent her career in healthcare, working many years as a CNA, CMA, and a HHA at Mt. Hope Nursing Center and as a patient care technician at Via Christi St. Joe. She also selflessly volunteered for many years as an EMT for the City of Mt. Hope, embodying a spirit of service in everything she did.
In her free time, Sherrie found joy in working in her yard and helping on the farm. She especially loved playing Farkle with her sisters, Gladys and Teresa — with the help, of course, of the mischievous "Farkle Fairy." Her life was full of laughter, family, and love.
Sherrie is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald McGrane (Betty), MaryEllen Laughlin, and her brother-in-law Keith Bell.
She is survived by her loving companion, Gary Goode; her children, Ashraph Tabtab (Chris) of Wichita, KS, and Abriam Lakzadeh (Lindsi) of Hutchinson, KS; and four beloved grandchildren: Aryssa Tabtab, Paige Tabtab, Nick Tabtab, and Andrew Lakzadeh.
She also leaves behind her siblings: Marvin McGrane (Debbie) of Haven, KS; Wayne McGrane (Shelly) of Hutchinson, KS; Gladys Conner (David); and Teresa Bell, both of Wichita, KS.
Sherrie will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews: Lindsay Phillips, Brad McGrane (Victoria), Alicia Dominguez (Mario), Eric McGrane (Crystal), Emily Styles (Jordan), Kayla Conner, Marcus McGrane (Katie), Roman Bell, and Annika Bell-Davies (Josephus).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Mt. Hope Community Center, 105 South Ohio Street, Mt. Hope, KS 67108.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Ennoble Care Hospice, 345 Riverview, Suite 412, Wichita, KS 67203.
Cremation has taken place through Wulf-Ast Mortuary.
Sherrie’s legacy of love, laughter, and service will live on in all who knew and loved her.
