CHENEY - Hillman, Thelma A. (Thalmann), 84, farmer and dairyman's wife, died December 4, 2012 in Cheney, Kansas. She was born August 7, 1928 at Haven, Kansas to George and Marie (Koster) Thalmann. She was Baptized on September 13, 1928 and she confirmed her faith on March 21, 1942. On June 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Alvin Hillman of Cheney. They made their home on a farm southeast of Cheney where they had many happy years together with their family. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, daughter, Joyce and granddaughter Angie Harmon. Survivors include her children Larry (Becky) of Cheney, Loren of Cheney, Arleata Harmon (Tom) of Wichita, Arlene Williams (Steve) of Cheney, John (Debbie) of Cheney, Barbara Kjergaard (Daniel) of Leawood, and Charlene Hodge (Joe) of Alvarado, Texas. Other survivors include sister Verona Obermueller (Melvin) of Salina, 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and countless friends. Visitation will be held at the Wulf-Ast Mortuary in Garden Plain from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, December 6. The funeral service will be held Friday morning, December 7 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cheney, at 10:30 a.m. Memorials have been established with St. Paul's Lutheran Church, St. Paul's Lutheran School and Cheney Golden Age Home.
