Thomas Howard Castleberry

Thomas Howard Castleberry, 85, of Pretty Prairie, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025.  Tom was born on September 22, 1940 in Cherokee, Oklahoma, to Mary (Bowers) and Thomas G. Castleberry. 

Throughout his life, Tom was a devoted father who worked hard to raise his children.  He was known for his love of the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and painting.  Tom was a friendly soul who would talk to everyone he met.  He was always ready with a joke and a pocket full of candy for the kids.  He had a playful spirit that kept everyone on their toes.  He also found joy in bowling and was known for his dedicated work ethic.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas G. Castleberry; mother, Mary Yardley; sisters, Mary Powell, Erma Chilton ,Ellie Dobrinski; and brother, Louis Castleberry. Survivors include his children, Robert Castleberry, Ryan Castleberry (Lola), Mitzi Gibson (Jeff), Kay Rinke (Jason), Michelle Whitaker (Tim), and Michelle Alderdice; 15 grandchildren, Rance and Rylan Castleberry, Jake and Matt Gibson, Tamara Martinez, Chance and Garrett Whitaker, Curtis Rogers, Chante Freud, Kayla Ediger, Luke and Trey Salmon, Janessa Rinke, Ayla and Addison Alderdice; 20 great-grandchildren.
