Thomas Edward Syers

Thomas Edward Syers, aged 72, passed away surrounded by his family on December 27, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas. Born on February 8, 1952, to James Pascal Syers and Margaret Grace (Warrick) Syers, Thomas’s life was one of many travels and varied experiences. He lived in North Carolina, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Kansas, encountering a wide array of people and challenges along the way.  Tom loved to skydive and had more than 2000 jumps.  He was a loving father and grandfather.

Thomas served briefly in the United States Army and used the GI Bill to pursue training as a registered nurse. He held positions in various states and settings.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, James Warrick Syers, and his son, James Lake Syers. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Garrett) Hankins, his son, Austin Syers, and his granddaughter, Ava Rae Hankins. Celebration of Life services are scheduled for Saturday January 18th at 11am at Faith Community Church in Wichita, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to a V.A. organization of your choice.
