Wayne Leslie Newkirk, Jr.

Wayne Leslie Newkirk, Jr., 81, of Wichita, KS passed away on August 30, 2025 in Wichita. He was born on September 16, 1943 in Wichita to Wayne Leslie Newkirk, Sr. and Margaret Kathleen Newkirk.

After graduating from Wichita North High School, Wayne served in the United States Air Force. He went on to build a career in several fields, including long tenures with Excel Beef and Boeing.

Wayne was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Newkirk; his daughter, Kelly Hahn (Chris); his son, Chris Newkirk (Alicia); and his beloved grandchildren, Aidan and Sadie Hahn, and Zachary, Preston, and McKenzie Newkirk.

He enjoyed family vacations to the lake, hunting trips, and classic cars. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and gift for making friends wherever he went.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to River Community Church, 2130 N. Oliver, Wichita, KS 67208.
