Harding, Zula Belle, 96, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many, passed away peacefully October 1, 2024. She was born November 8, 1927, to Lawrence and Edna Weaver in Whiting, Kansas. She was married to Dean Harding on August 3, 1952. They had two children: sons Bill Harding (Jean) of Houston, Texas and Rob Harding of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Ted and Phil Weaver and sister Lee Czajkowski. Survivors include her brother, Jerry Weaver and her two sons; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Zula graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1951. She then moved to Cheney where she taught English and was Cheney High School’s Librarian for nearly 40 years. Visitation will be held at Wulf-Ast Mortuary, in Garden Plain, on October 7th from 5PM – 7PM. Funeral services will be held at Trinity United Christian Church, in Cheney, on October 8th at 10:30 AM followed by a graveside service at Pioneer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Cheney High School Library or Cheney Golden Age Home.
