Corrine Simon, born June 15, 1935, died December 31, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her parents Alfonse and Genevieve Scheer; brothers LaRue (Bud), Maurice; sisters Jean Marie Seiwert, Ruth Peters; and granddaughter Cortney Simon.

Living siblings are Irene Laney, AR, Laurie Rawlins, Blue Springs, MO, Eugene Scheer, Colorado Springs, CO, Lawrence (Blackie) Seiwert, Garden Plain, KS, and Rita Scheer, Cheney, KS.

Corrine married Alphonse (Al or Fons) Simon on August 20, 1955, and built a home in St. Marks. They have 5 children: Cindy (Merle) Heard, Houston, TX, Sherri (Bob) Heimerman of Omaha, NE, Alan (Kara) Simon Colwich, KS, Gerald, Pretty Prairie, KS, and Nancy (Greg) Rausch of Garden Plain, KS. 11 Grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

She had a love of sewing, quilting, embroidering, cooking, baking, bowling, flower gardening, playing pitch and singing in the choir. Loving her grandchildren with board games, coloring, bike riding, helping them learn to read, and loving them with her time.

To our mom, although we can not hear your voice or see your smile anymore, we know you walk beside us still just like you did before. You listened to our stories and wiped away our tears; you wrapped your arms around us and you understood our fears. We will continue to talk to you in the silence of our hearts and your spirit will reply. You have left your human body but our thoughts will never part.

The visitation will be at the Wulf-Ast Mortuary chapel in Garden Plain on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Rosary will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 7:00 PM and funeral mass on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 10:30 AM both at St Mark Catholic Church, Colwich, KS.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Kindred Hospice.
